September 11, 2016 - The lava lake in Halema'uma'u Crater inside the Kilauea Caldera was at yearly high and provided a beautiful light show in the pre-dawn hours. I watched as the three pools of fire (in this image) danced for several minutes eventually merging into one large pool of fire. September 16, 2016 - The Green Sea Turtles (Honu) can be seen in the ocean and several beaches on the island. They come ashore to warm themselves on the black sand beaches. While photographing this sea turtle laying on the shore, a larger wave broke on top of him and scattered rocks all around.
