Hermosa Beach, CA
November 3, 2015 - An early season storm was blowing through the region when the rain subsided. Sunlight began peaking through the fast moving clouds and I grabbed my camera gear and headed down to the beach. I could tell I di not have much time as the sun was setting behind the offshore storm clouds and creating an illuminating effect; you could also detect rain falling offshore diffusing the light beneath the clouds. Available Sizes: 40" x 60"; 32" x 48" Limited Edition - 20
January 7, 2014 - A typical winter day with temperatures slightly above normal and a little hazy, nothing particularily special other than a low tide at sunset so I grabbed my camera gear and stayed local. Wasn't expecting much but felt like shooting some pictures and was rewarded with amazing color. Available Sizes: 40" x 60"; 32" x 48"; 24" x 36"; 16" x 24" Limited Edition - 75
January 7, 2014 - The colors at sunset were amazing I decided to see what developed after sunset. Using a long exposure this image was taken approximately 30 minutes after sunset. Look closely and notice the streak of light just right of the pier at the horizon as a small boat moved through the area during my exposure. Available Sizes: 30" x 60"; 24" x 48"; 18" x 36"; 12" x 24" Limited Edition - 75
September 7, 2013 - Low tides and great cloud activity at sunset is an amazing combination. Even more so when the conditions come together and create a picture like this. Available Sizes: 40" x 60"; 32" x 48"; 24" x 36"; 16" x 24" Limited Edition - 350
January 15, 2009 - A warm winter day and off shore winds set the stage for a stunning sunset. This is the third of three pictures from this day that made my all time list. It was amazing to see the colors change as the sun settled beneath the horizon. 24" x 36"; 16" x 24" Limited Edition - 50
December 28, 2012 - A great cloud pattern appears to be converging towards Catalina (seen between the pillings of the Hermosa Beach Pier) as daylight comes to an end. The first of two images that day. Available Sizes: 40" x 60"; 32" x 48"; 24" x 36"; 20" x 30"; 16" x 24" Limited Edition - 350
December 28, 2012 - Wanting to capture the beautiful twilight colors and lights of Palos Verdes Peninsula, I used a shutter speed of 30 seconds to obtain this image. The long exposure gave the ocean a glassy look and captured lights off the pier wonderfully. The angle and the lighting seduces the viewer to this time and place (Note: The lights above the end of the pier are a small aircraft as passed. Available Sizes: 30" x 60"; 24" x 48"; 18" x 36"; 12" x 24" Limited Edition - 75
May 9, 2013 - A rare springtime light show. Usually spring brings hazy conditions and a marine layer that comes and goes without warning; not the best conditions for picturesque sunsets. This day was the exception; a light breeze, humid conditions, and some haze mixed with clouds set the stage for a beautiful orange glow. Available Sizes: 40" x 60"; 32" x 48"; 24" x 36"; 16" x 24" Limited Edition - 50
